Leona L. Flaig died on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the age of 88.

Leona had a great passion for animals, especially Cathy's horse Solo, as well as numerous other pets including her beloved border collie Blitz and Pretzer her joyful Corgi. Her cats Francesca and Aaron were by her side when she peacefully departed to Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maj. Eugene Pretzer Flaig (U.S. Army Retired); and son-in-law, Charles Garret, Jr.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughters, Cathy Flaig and Bobbin Flaig Garrett; grandchildren, Brian, Thomas and Emily Garrett and Officer John A. Mills, a close family friend who was always there for her.

Leona graduated from Incarnate Word School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at Santa Rosa Hospital.

She will truly be missed by all who love her. Special thanks to Doctor Elizabeth McRae for taking such good care of Leona.
