      VICTORIA - Julie Mildred Hogan, 100, of Victoria, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, July 12, 2012.

       

      She was born in Gonzales County on December 10, 1911 to the late Frank and Mary Mikesh Vaclavik.  She was married to Julius Hogan for 62 years until his death in 1996. Together, they operated Hogan's fruit stand for 20 years. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her garden with her flowers, enjoyed fishing and loved being with her family.

       

      Julie is survived by her son, Robert L. Hogan Sr. and his wife Betty of Victoria; seven grandchildren, Shirley Mahaffey, Nona Starkey, Ted Hill, Barbara Parrish, Robert Hogan Jr., Kathy Hengst, and Richard Hogan; 15 great grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

       

      In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Julius Hogan; daughter, Edna Hogan Hill Pruitt; two sisters, three brothers; two granddaughters, Joy Gresham and Deborah Hogan.

       

      The family will receive friends at Grace Funeral Home on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Grace Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.

       

      Pallbearers are Chad Starkey, Troy Starkey, Larry Fisher, Shawn Parrish, Louis Hill, and Richard Hogan. Honorary Pallbearers are Teddy Hill, Robert Hogan, and graddaughter, Julie Starkey Repper.

       

      Memorials in Julie's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society

       

      Grace Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
