George A. Blahuta, 83, of West, passed awayFriday
in Temple. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in West.
Mr Blahuta was born Feb. 18, 1917 in
Penelope. He had lived in the West area most of his life. He was a
veteran of WWII and the Korean War, having served in the USArmy for 20
years. After retirement from the Army in 1961, he worked as a
carpenter. Mr. Blahuta was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of
the Assumption in West; VFW Post 4819; former member of Horseless Carriage Club
of America and the Heart of Texas Antique Car Club. He loved his family,
his country, his cars and his Czech heritage.
Mr. Blahuta married Clarine Hlavaty on June 4, 1951
in West. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. & Louise
J. Picha Blahuta; brother Alvin H. Blahuta; and son-in-law Larry W.
Survivors include his wife, Clarine of West; son,
Allan J. Blahuta & wife Kathy of West; daughter, Beth Clements of Waco;
brother Charles Blahuta of West; grandsons Todd Blahuta of West and Jason &
Jared Clements of Waco; granddaughter, Brandi Blahuta of West; and several
nieces and nephews.
