obit: Florence Gless Volek
NAVASOTA – Mrs. Florence Volek, 65, sister of Harry Gless of Edna, died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday in a Navasota hospital. Mrs. Volek, who retired in 1977 after being a barber in Rosenberg for 18 years, was a resident on Route 1, Washington, Tex.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Rosenberg with the Rev. Frank Cate officiating. Burial under direction of Lindley Robertson Funeral Home of Navasota will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of the usual remembrances memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church in Rosenberg.
Survivors include her husband, Emil Volek of Washington; a son, Charles W. Volek of Ventura, Calif; four sisters, Mrs. Frances May, Mrs. Sophie Hayes and Mrs. Lora Belle Hays of Washington, and Mrs. Louise McKinney of Bastrop; three brothers, Milford and Earl Gless of Richmond and Harry Gless of Edna, and two grandchildren.
