Edgar Lee Stancik, 82, of Columbus, passed away on March 3, 2013 in Columbus, Texas.
He was born on February 20, 1931 to Raymond William Stancik and Earline (Foster) Stancik in Columbus, Texas. Edgar retired as a wildlife technician for the Texas Parks & Wildlife after working 23 years for them. On July 3, 1962 he married Delores Strobel in Schulenburg.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbus and the VFW Post 6113 of Columbus. Edgar served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Stancik of Columbus, TX; sisters-in-law, Earline Horn of Houston, TX, and Marilyn Kelley and husband Jerry of San Antonio, TX; 3 nieces, Denise Voelkel and husband Brian, Kim Mosser and husband E.J., and Karen Martinez and husband Richard; 1 nephew, David Horn and wife Melissa; 4 great nieces and 5 great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond William Stancik and Earline Foster Stancik.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 noon at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus with Rev. Mike Morris officiating. Burial will take place in the Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus. Pallbearers are Royce Jurries, Bob Carroll, Greg Venghaus, Gilbert Elizondo, Arthur Kollmann and Julius Kurtz.
