      Ladis Jerome Uher, Jr.

      10/9/1921 - 12/28/2009

Ladis Jerome Uher (Johnny), born Oct.9, 1921 in Wharton, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie Mae Smalley Uher of Kerrville, TX.

Johnny is survived by his three children Johnny Ray Uher of San Antonio, TX, Peter Gerald (Uher) Mulligan and wife Winnie of Scotland, UK, and Judy Carolyn (Uher) Rogers and husband Jim of Medina, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jona Ann Peutersditir and Magnus of Iceland, Karen Hildebrandt and husband Magnus of Sweden, Linda Mulligan and David of Scotland, David Rogers and wife Lacy of Medina, TX, Tom Rogers and wife Sylvia of Medina, TX, and Jonathan Rogers and wife Teresa of Abilene, TX.; 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and brother Leo Uher of Alpine, TX.

Johnny was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing in Colorado for many years. He served during WWII in Colby, England in the Air Force/Army as an aircraft mechanic. He worked for International Harvester Co. for many years in San Antonio. Later, he started his own sawmill, Western Lumber Sales. He survived the depression and WWII and life in general. He loved reading Louis LAmour Westerns. In 2007, he received a real blessing from God, he and his son, Peter, met for the first time in 61 years. This blessing that he never told his family about (except Marjorie) overflowed onto us all. It brought the family together and we value each other. Whoever reads this obituary, please realize how important relationships are with the Lord and with family. We will miss you Daddy.
