Arrangements under the direction of Condra Funeral Home Msgr. George Emil Tydlacka went to his eternal rest on Wed., April 28 in Granger, Texas. A Rosary will be held at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor on Sunday, May 2 at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be on Monday, May 3 at 10: 30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetary followed by a meal at the KC Hall in Taylor.

George Emil was born March 31, 1919 in Buckholts, Texas. The fourth son of Charles Joseph and Frantiska Kolenovsky Tydlacka, he was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellinger, Texas. He had seven siblings who preceded him in death: Jerome Joseph (also a priest), Victor Frank, Claudia Ann Gest, Evelyn Cecelia Havelka, Dominic Charles, Thomas Theodore, and Helen Frances Hunter-Konopka. He attended school at St. Mary's in Taylor and attended St. Mary's Seminary in La Porte to study for the priesthood. He was ordained May 29, 1944 and said his first Mass at St. Mary's in Taylor. His first appointment was in West (1944-1945) followed by Granger as assistant to Msgr. Vanicek (1945-1951), Frenstat as pastor (1951-1965), Granger as pastor (1965-1981) and Manor as pastor (1981-1987). He served as State Chaplain to KJT from 1983 to 1986 as well as Spiritual Director to the Granger, Frenstat, and Manor societies. He was also a member of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and the Knights of Columbus. Of great meaning to him was leaving his Manor property to the Mercy of God Prayer Center. Fr. George served his God, God's people, and his Church with great devotion.
