obit: James Truett Tabor
James Truett Tabor, 69, of Albany died Sunday, April 1, 2012. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in the Moran Cemetery with Lee Sellers officiating under the direction of Godfrey-Neese, Albany, and Bailey Howard Funeral Home, Clyde. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Moran Baptist Church.
Mr. Tabor was born August 1, 1942 in Sedwick, Texas to Floyd M. and Jean (Macon) Tabor. He was a lifetime resident of Shackelford County, graduating from Moran High School. He married Joyce Beal, August 13, 1960 in Moran. They moved to Albany from Moran in 1963. Mr. Tabor worked in the oilfield most of his life and was Shackelford County Precinct 1 Commissioner from 1994-2000. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Albany.
Mr. Tabor is survived by his wife Joyce of Albany; two sons, Jimmy Tabor of Moran and Jay Tabor and wife Amanda of Albany; one daughter, Jana Sellers and husband Lee of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Chase and Ashton Sellers and Briley Pearson and two great grandchildren, Haley and Pacey Sellers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Patrilla Baughman and an infant brother, Donald Ralph Tabor.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Jay Tabor, Lee, Chase and Josh Sellers, Raymond Beal and Doug Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Ed Macon Jr., Bill and Larry Macon, Barney Tabor, and Grant Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moran Cemetery Association, PO Box 96, Moran, Texas 76464.
