      10/18/1876 - 12/6/1962


      Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mary Janecek, age 86 years, at 10:30 a.m. and continued at the Shiner Catholic Church at 10:45, Saturday December 8th. She passed away December 6th at 4:45 a.m. at the Hallettsville Rest Home.

      Requiem Mass was sung for the repose of her soul at 9:00 a.m. Friday December 7th. Burial was in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery witht he Rev. Father John J. Hanacek officiating at all the religious rights.

      Mrs. Janecek was born at Industry in Austin County on October 18th, 1876, the daughter of Matthew and Anna (Kasparek) Zigelbauer. She was married to W. J. Janecek on September 29th, 1896 at Praha. The first made their home at Moravia for 12 years where Mr. Janecek taught school. In 1909 the family came to make their home in Shiner, where they remained to make their living.

      Survivors include two sons, Rudy and Laddie Janecek of San Antonio; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Della) Janca of Fort Worth and Mrs. Felix (Mary) Hybner of Shiner; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Jez of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

      Pallbearers were Louis Matula of Shiner; grandsons, Dr. Marvin Janca of Fort Worth and Milton Janca of Cistern; nephews Victor Janecek of Chanco, Julius Jasek of Moulton and James Cimrhanzel of Shiner.

      Rosary was recited at the funeral home Thursday at 7:00 p.m. by the KJZT and Friday at 7:00 p.m. by the Parish and at 7:15 p.m. by the Altar Society.
