      ERVIN "COTTON" PESEK

       

      YOAKUM - Ervin "Cotton" Pesek, age 89, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013.

       

      He was born September 22, 1923 in Shiner to Anton and Mary Janecek Pesek.

       

      He was the Pearl Beer distributor for 32 years, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, SPJST, Knights of Columbus, Hermann Son's Lodge and was a Corporal in the United States Army Air Force in WW II. He served in England for 2 years with the 8th Air Force Quarter Master Corp. He worked with his father and brother in Pesek's General Merchandise/ Feed Store and Trucking Business. He owned and operated an aluminum can business and was a Hereford cattle and hog rancher.

       

      Survivors: wife, Wilma Seitz Pesek; son, Ronnie Pesek and wife Teresa of Missouri City; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Pelech and husband John of New Braunfels, Lacy Babb and husband Martin of Hutto, Britney Cross and husband Alan of San Marcos; 8 great-grandchildren and sister, Dodie Hermes of Houston.

       

      Preceded in death by parents and brother, Benny Pesek.

       

      Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday February 14, 2013 at the funeral home with a rosary at 7 p.m. with Deacon Leonard Harper officiating.  Private funeral mass for all relatives and in-laws at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

       

      Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic School Endowment Fund or Alzheimer's Association.
