Albert Toman, 81, of Sheridan, Texas, died May 21, 2006. He was born on January 31, 1925 to August & Bettie Palvick Toman in Fort Bend County, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Betty Smart Toman, married April 10, 2003 in East Bernard, Texas; 4-sons, Lawrence Toman & wife Donna of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Toman & wife Donna of Seaford, NY, James Allen of Calabasas, CA, and David Toman & wife Lisa of East Bernard, TX; daughter Lorene Toman of Brentwood, NY; 5-step-daughters, Wanda Barrier & husband Billy of Yorktown, TX, Lisa Toman & husband Dave of East Bernard, TX, Dana Rodgers & husband Tom of Corpus Christi, TX, Tiffany Fogle, and Lasca Asp & husband Charles of North Dakota; 7-sisters, Elizabeth LeBlanc of Hearne, TX, Lily Demn of Hallettsville, Alma Jane Jankowske of Richmond, TX, Augusta Lee Comer, Margaret Provazona of Houston, Evelyn Becker of Houston, and Bettie Ann Lyons of Katy, TX; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchldren.
He is preceded in death by: 1st wife of 56 years, Assunta Demartine Toman; parents; sister Dorothy Toman; brother Eugene Toman; and step-son Glen.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. A Veteran of World War II: during his service he received the Meritorious Unit Award; Good Conduct Medal; World War II Victory Medal; and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal with the bronze arrowhead (amphibious assault landing), and 5 bronze service stars for Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes-Alsace, Rhineland, and Central Europe campaigns.
Service: 11am, Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Officiate: Rev. Bryan Heyer. Visitation: Noon, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Burial: 10:30am, Friday, May 26, 2006 at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard Route 25, Calverton, NY 11933, 631-727-5410; under the supervision of Fredrick J.
