      William Ray "Coach" Sefcik, Sr., age 71, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

       

      Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Rev. Dennis Neal officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

       

      Ray was born April 4, 1939 in Denver City, Texas to Robert Charlie and Jettie Leona (Beasley) Sefcik. He and Elizabeth Jane Hopkins were married June 30, 2001 in Iowa Park, Texas. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park. He was a teacher and coach for the Wichita Falls ISD until his retirement in 1997. He was a 30 year resident of Iowa Park. Coach loved sports of any kind, shooting pool and coaching. He loved spending time with his family and playing with his dog, Arthur Fonzarelli Sefcik.

       

      His parents and a sister, Charlotte Sefcik, preceded him in death.

       

      He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jane Sefcik of Iowa Park, Texas; children, Karen Richter and husband, Larry of Grand Prairie, Texas, Kelei Liggett and husband, Roger of Iowa Park, Texas, Ray Sefcik, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Weatherford, Texas, Gary Hopkins and wife, Tammy of Peaster, Texas and Glen Hopkins and wife, Crissa of Highland Village, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Rose Mary Shook and husband, Philip of Hereford, Texas, Gordon Sefcik and wife, Donna of Denver City, Texas and Patriarch, Louis Sefcik and Betty of Iowa Park, Texas.

       

      Memorials are suggested to MDA/ALS Society, 2910 Kemp Blvd #209, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308.

       

      Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel.
