      HALLETTSVILLE – William F. (Bill) Sobik, 51, of Rt. 4, died Friday at 11:05 p.m. in a local hospital.

       

      Mr. Sobik was born May 21, 1919 in Lavaca County and had been a lifelong resident of the area.  He was a carpenter by trade.

       

      He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 2433 and the KJT Society of Hallettsville.

       

      Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Henry Psencik officiating.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hallettsville under the direction of the Kubena Funeral Home.

       

      Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home by the parish.

       

      The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

       

      Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Hilda Sobik; his mother, Mrs. Frances Sobik; two sons, Patrick and Robert Sobik, all of Hallettsville; four daughters, Mrs. David Rothbauer and Mrs. Gary Orsak, both of Houston; Mrs. Paulie [as printed] Janak and Miss Christine Sobik, both of Hallettsville; three brothers, Louis Sobik of Baytown; Dr. Ben Sobik of Taylor and Norbert Sobik of Hallettsville; two sisters, Mrs. Jodie Bludau and Mrs. Frank Bludau and Mrs. Frank Bludau, both of Hallettsville and six grandchildren.
