Viola Lord, of Baytown, Texas, ended her long battle with cancer on August 18, 2012 and has left this world to be with her Maker. She was 84 years old.

Viola Mae Sikora Lord was born April 4, 1928 to Mary Ann Brumek Sikora and Charles Sikora at their home in Alvin, TX. She was the eldest of six siblings who all grew up on the family farm in Crosby, Texas. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and Southwestern Business College in Houston. Vi worked at Shell Oil Company and Exxon Oil Company and was also very involved in the family photography business.

Vi and her husband, Lester Lord, deceased, loved living in Baytown with their family of three children, Cathy, Janice, and Wayne. Vi was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, and friend, and was devoted to her Church. She lived each and every day for her children. Besides all the love for her children, she cherished her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her heart was full of love and was the most unselfish and caring person. Vi enjoyed cooking, traveling, dancing, and working in her numerous flower beds and her vegetable garden. She was a wonderful artist who specialized in hill country bluebonnet scenes. She also enjoyed quilting.

Vi was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baytown and later at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Highlands where she served as secretary of the KJZT Society, served as Eucharistic Minister, and enjoyed the monthly “Dude’s” get together. She has always been a devout Christian and has served her community with great love and kindness.

Vi was predeceased by her mother, Mary Ann Brumek Sikora, her father, Charles Sikora, Sr., her husband, Lester Leroy Lord, her son-in-law, Larry Wayne Parker, and her brother, Rudolph Sikora.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Haidusek and her husband Don of Devers; her daughter, Janice Parker of Magnolia; her son, Wayne Lord and wife Lily of Baytown; and her brothers Charles Sikora, Jr., Daniel Sikora, Willie Joe Sikora, and sister Drusilla (Dee) Goerig.

Vi had six grandchildren – David Parker and wife Crystal, Lindsay French and husband Chuck, John Haidusek and wife Nicole, Erik Lord, Andrew Lord, and Austin Lord.

Her great-grandchildren are Cullen Brooks Parker and Jackson Parker French.
