obit: Stella Mary "Baba" Antosh Sobnosky
SANTA FE -- Mrs. Stella Mary "Baba" Sobnosky passed from this life Saturday morning, July 3, 2004, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Born May 17, 1914, in Youngstown, Ohio, Mrs. Sobnosky has been a resident of Santa Fe for 30 years, previously of Youngstown. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and had worked the register at the family restaurant, Texas Top Bar-B-Q, for many years. Mrs. Sobnosky was a dedicated mother who loved her grandchildren and avidly enjoyed cleaning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eugene Sobnosky, Sr.; parents, Mike and Elizabeth Antosh; brother, Casmir Antosh; daughter-in-law, Ruth Vierra Sobnosky and grandsons, Derrick Joseph Sobnosky and Steven Paul Sobnosky.
Survivors include her son, Raymond "Ski" Sobnosky, Jr. of Santa Fe; sister, Ray Barile of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandsons, Charles Andrew Vierra of California, Raymond Eugene Sobnosky, III, Keith Anthony Sobnosky, Casmir Frederick Sobnosky and wife, Theresa, Shane Michael Sobnosky and wife, Barbara, all of Santa Fe; 16 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express a special thanks to A-Med Community Hospice, especially Connie Alford, RN, Patty Peek and Joe Hinojosa.
