      Stasie Anna (Ondrasek) Sefcik, 101, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2006 at College Station Medical Center.

      She was born November 11, 1904 to Tom & Rosie (Machat) Ondrasek of the New Tabor Community in Burleson County. She was a faithful member of the New Tabor Brethren Church and The Christian Sisters. Stasie was baptized as an infant in Burleson County and attended the New Tabor Schools.

      On December 21, 1926 she was married to John T. Sefcik by Rev. Frank Horak in Burleson County. She was a homemaker who loved quilting and sewing clothes for her family. She also spent her time gardening, and canning almost anything that grew in her garden. She also loved planting beautiful flowers. Her family remembers her wonderful cooking, especially her homemade breads and chicken noodle soup. She taught her children the Czech language at a young age. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved visiting with family and friends.

      She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John T. Sefcik who passed away on January 19, 1990; her parents; her step-mother, Rosie Dubcak; sister, Julie Ondrasek; brother, Henry Ondrasek; half-brother, Frank Ondrasek; half-sister, Milady Nowak, grandson, Scott Sefcik, and granddaughter, Teresa Smith.

      Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law: Arnold & Emilie Sefcik of Texas City, TX, John & Jerry Sefcik of Houston, TX; daughters & sons-in-law: Mildred & Dan Houdek of Bryan, TX, Gladys & J.P. Watson of North Zulch, TX, Emily (Emmy) Welch of Bryan, TX; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

      Visitation with the family will begin 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 14 with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at New Tabor Brethren Church with Rev. David Johnson and Rev. John Baletka officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

      Pallbearers will be John Watson, Steve Houdek, Blaine Houdek, Danny Sefcik, Jimmy Jones and Scott Welch.

      At the family's request, memorials may be given to the New Tabor Brethren Church, P.O. Box 262, Caldwell, TX 77836.
