obit: Marcella Rozina Foyt Treybig
Marcella Rozina Foyt Treybig, age 98, departed on December 22, 2012 to be with Jesus to celebrate his birthday.
Marcella was born on February 17, 1914 to Martin and Rozina Orsak Foyt at Park, Fayette County, Texas. Her early years were spent on a farm. She married Alvin Louis Treybig on August 17, 1931. In the summer of 1941, she and their nine year old son moved to Mission Beach, California where Alvin had secured a job with Consolidated Vultee. The following four years she joined her husband building B-24 bombers as a "Rosie the Riverter." After returning to farm near Park, the family moved to Austin in 1950 where Marcella joined her sister Albina, at Paul's Interiors. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, gardening and family. Relatives knew they always had a place to stay when visiting Austin.
Mrs. Treybig was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Treybig, parents, brother Joe Foyt, sisters Lydia Foyt, Albina Leonard, daughter-in-law Delois Fuchs Treybig, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marcella is survived by her son Alvin J. Treybig, granddaughters Lori Duff and husband Jeff, Tina Manson and husband Bill, Shari Cox and husband Randy, grandson Bruce J. Treybig, great granddaughters Ashley and Kelsey Duff, Jordan Manson, Kelli and Courtney Cox, great grandson Joshua Cox and many nieces, nephews, great, and great great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff from Heartland Health Care Center and Odyssey Hospice for care and attention given to Marcella during her stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church 7601 Burnet Rd. Austin, Texas 78757.
Services will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX 78752, with a Visitation Wednesday December 26, from six o'clock to eight o'clock in the evening, with a Rosary being recited at seven o'clock in the evening. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel Thursday December 27, at two o'clock in the afternoon. Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum 3650 S. IH 35 Austin, TX 78704.
