obit: Oldrich John Stransky
OJ Stransky passed away July 27, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston at the age of 78. He was born September 11, 1932 in Needville, Texas. OJ met the love of his life, Magnolia Kramer in Needville and they were blessed with each other's companionship for forty-nine years.
OJ served in the Army and fought in the Korean War. After serving in the Army, OJ returned to Needville and worked for United Gas and also began his farming and ranching career. OJ was owner and operator of the "City Club" of Needville for thirty years with Magnolia by his side.
OJ served on the Board of Directors of the Needville Cotton Warehouse and the Needville Warehouse. He was a member of the American Legion Post 350 for fifty-seven years, Cattlemen's Association, National Rifleman's Association, Sheriff's Association and St. Michael's Catholic Church. OJ supported all surrounding communities.
OJ is survived by the love of his life, Magnolia Kramer, Ronald Kramer and wife Joy, Deborah Lindemann and husband Donald, Nancy Stasney and husband Ronnie all of Needville. Grandchildren, Lisa Bailey, Jennifer Reist and husband Mel, Kristen Rouse and husband Freddy, Jason Stasney and wife Lori, Derek Lindemann and girlfriend Hanna Bosak. Great Grandchildren, CJ Johansen, Caleb and Amanda Bailey, Kaitlyn and Kolby Reist, Reagan Rouse and Baby Stasney due in November; Brothers Frankie Stransky, Joe Stransky and wife Anna Mae and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
OJ was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Stransky, Sister-In-Law Vlasta Stransky and companion "Spotty".
OJ's highlight of his day was "making the rounds" with Magnolia riding shotgun.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Sunday, July 31, 2011 with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. Interment will follow at Sitta Cemetery, Needville, Texas.
Pallbearers: Jason Stasney, Derek Lindemann, Freddy Rouse, Mel Reist, Patrick Stransky and Tim Stransky. Honorary Pallbearers: Louis "Peanut" Reyes, Shorty Yeaman, Gary (Buck) Kalinowski, Emil Straznicky, Jimmy Dorr and Danny Filla, and the American Legion Post 350/Needville.
The family is most thankful to St. Luke's Hospital, Houston, Texas and Dr. Frost with Baylor College of Medicine. OJ was one of Dr. Frost's longest living patients with pulmonary hypertension.
