      EDWARD "ED" SEVCIK

      COMANCHE - Edward (Ed) Sevcik, age 64, of Comanche, TX passed away at his home Thursday, January 3, 2013 surrounded by his family.  A memorial service, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche, was held Sunday, January 13 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Comanche, TX.

       

      Ed was born April 18, 1948, in Bryan-College Station, TX to Anton and Emily (David) Sevcik.

       

      After graduating from El Campo High School, El Campo TX, Ed attended and graduated from Texas A&M University. In 1969, he and Margaret Massingill were married in Marak, TX.

      As a licensed architect he specialized in the design and construction of public schools. He retired from Round Rock Independent School District in December of 2012 where he had served as Director of Facilities and Construction for 12 years.

       

      Ed's favorite past times was building. His greatest pride was his retirement home that he designed and built near Proctor Lake, Comanche, TX.

       

      He is survived by wife, Margaret; son, Richard Sevcik,; daughter in-law, Amanda Sevcik; granddaughter, Tatum Sevcik; nephew, Raylon Massingill and fiancé, Jamii Harrelson; grand nephew, Tyler Massingill, grand nephew, Bryce Massingill, grand niece, Kaylon Massingill of Comanche, TX; his mother, Emily Sevcik of El Campo; brother, Don Sevcik and wife Lucia of Houston; sister, Pat Mikulencak and husband David of Elgin, TX; sister-in-law, Mary Jean Hall and husband Wayne of Red Oak, TX; and 2 nieces and 5 nephews.

       

      He was preceded in death by son, Michael Sevcik and father, Anton Sevcik.

       

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made in memory of Ed Sevcik to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142.
