obit: Theresa Gertrude Toney "Nana" Havran

Theresa Gertrude Toney Havran “Nana,” 79, of San Antonio, passed away on Dec. 29, 2012 from complications associated with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
Trudy was born in Livonia, La., on Sept. 15, 1933. After graduating from high school she moved to Houston where she met her beloved spouse of over 53 years, Jerry “Poppop.”
Trudy worked as a cashier for Weiner’s Department Store for more than 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
After rearing Sherry and Jim in Houston, Trudy and Jerry retired to Wharton where they enjoyed the country life and made many cherished friends.
She is survived by daughter Sherry and husband Tom Schott; son, Jim and wife Kathy Havran; grandchildren, Travis Schott and Kinsey and Michael Havran; sisters, Eula Knapp, Doris and husband Billy Mabry and Grace Elaine Mendoza; brothers, John and wife Mary Toney, Ralph and wife Robbie Toney, J.S. and wife Brenda Toney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ruby and Samuel Toney; husband, Jerry; and brother, Jimmy Toney.
A private interment ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice or a charity of personal choice.
