Mrs. Julia Sokol, 82, of Rt. 2, Box 214-B, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday in a local hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Sokol, mother of Mrs. J. C. Schoener of Victoria, had resided in Victoria six weeks moving here from Schulenburg. She was born Dec. 24, 1890 in Lavaca County, to the late Joe and Anna Lehnert Kellner, and was a member of St. Rose Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg.
Funeral arrangements are pending, and will be announced by Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Surviving, besides the daughter, are her husband, Adolph Sokol of Victoria; five sons, Alton Sokol of Yoakum, Julius and Alfred Sokol and Schulenburg and George and Herbert Sokol of Houston; five sisters, Mrs. Millie Telschik and Mrs. Mrs. Louise Ullman of Floresville, Mrs. Mary Schramek of Schulenburg, Mrs. Hattie Hohensee of Houston and Mrs. Lillie Sokol of Slaton; three brothers, Charlie Kollner of Yoakum and Joe and Albert Kellner of San Antonio; 20 grandchildren. and 23 great grandchildren.
