obit: Edward William Schadek
Edward William Schadek, 64, a native of Prague, Czechoslovakia, and a well known refrigeration engineer, died Saturday at his home, 4244 University.
Before coming to the United States in 1901, Mr. Schadek was a student at the University of Prague. In St. Louis, where he made his home for twenty-five years, he was president of Ruemmeli Dawley Refrigerator Manufacturing Company.
In 1928 he moved to Dallas to become head of the engineering department of Southern Ice Company. At the time of his death he was vice-president and general manager of the J. & S. Carburetor Company. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Agnes Schadek; four daughters, Mrs. John Alt, Los Angeles; Mrs. Roy E. Weinzettel and Mrs. L. G. Wolfarth, St. Louis and Mrs. Spencer C. Frost Jr. of Dallas, and seven grandchildren.
