      Funeral Services for Edward "Happy" Skrabanek, Jr., 65, of Caldwell, are set for 2p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell, with Msgr. Benedict Zientek officiating. Interment will follow at New Tabor Cemetery in Caldwell. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

      Mr. Skrabanek passed away May 17, 2012 at College Station Medical Center. Happy was born September 24, 1946 to Edward L. Skrabanek, Sr. and Milady Vychopen Skrabanek in the New Tabor Community near Caldwell, Texas. He was a graduate of Sam Houston State University and he married Suzanne Garbs, on December 30, 1967, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell, Texas.

      Happy was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell. He spent 10 years selling cars and 30 years as a teacher and coach at Caldwell ISD from which he retired in 2011. He was a member of the Deanville Gun Club, a charter member of the Caldwell Jaycee's, past president of the Lions Club and an avid Longhorn fan. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a lifelong dedication to the youth of Caldwell. His biggest contributions were as a Father and Grandfather.

      Happy is survived by his wife, Suzanne Skrabane,k of Caldwell, daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Marty Bryan, of Dallas; brother and sister-in- law, Paul Martin and Debbie Skrabanek, of Caldwell; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and James Muzny, of Caldwell, grandchildren, McKaley Bryan, Madison Bryan, Brooks Bryan, Colton Trahan, Caitlyn Trahan; nieces and nephews, Gary Hein, Jr., Brian Garbs, Kirsten Garbs, Kelsey Garbs, T.J. Garbs, Anthony Garbs, Stephen Skrabanek, Tiffany Skrabanek Parkin, Ashley Muzny.

      He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Rhonda Skrabanek Trahan.

      The family requests memorials be made to the
      Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation .

      Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
