obit: Eddie John Srubar
LOLITA – Funeral services for Eddie John Srubar, 70, of Lolita will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. Theresa Catholic Church of LaSalle. The Rev. Charles Carolon, the Rev. Edward Jansky and the Rev. Michael O’Shaughnessy will officiate.
A rosary will be read at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Slavik Chapel. Burial will be in the LaSalle Catholic Cemetery under direction of Slavik Funeral Home.
Mr. Srubar was born Jan. 15, 1903 in Lavaca County and formerly lived in Hallettsville. He had lived in Jackson County 10 years and was a retired Alcoa employee. He was a member of the KJT Lodge of Hallettsville, the Knights of Columbus at Port Lavaca and the St. Theresa Church. He died Monday in a Houston hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Mary Srubar of Lolita; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Huntley of Houston, Mrs. Ronnie Cummings of Point Comfort, and Mrs. Dick Sawyers of Galveston; four sons, Edwin James and Eugene of Victoria, Leon of Bay City and Robert of Point Comfort; two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Morizek of Houston and Mrs. Rosie Kristek of Hallettsville; two brothers, Joe of Hallettsville and John of Shiner; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
