      CHRISTOPHER W. KELNER

       

      BEVERLY HILLS, FLA - Christopher Wayne Kelner, age 47, of Beverly Hills, Florida, died on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

      Chris was born on January 12, 1965 in Port Lavaca, TX to Franklin and Lonnie (Svatek) Kelner.

       

      Chris earned his Associates Degree in Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology from Texas State Technical Institute, obtaining an Aircraft and Power Plant License. He later obtained an inspection authorization license and utilized his knowledge as an Aviation Maintenance mechanic for Easter Airlines, Martinaire, Inc and Canvanugh Aircraft Services before embarking on his entrepreneur journey as founder/owner and president of Kelner Turbine, Inc., specializing in the repair and maintenance of the Garrett TPE 331 Turbine engine. His shop was a Honeywell authorized repair center. Chris received a Bronze award from the Federal Aviation Administration in the Maintenance Technician awards program for knowledge and professional safety. He also established Aeronautical Analysis as Owner, Expert Witness and Consultant for this same type engine, along with Digging Deeper, a Striper Bass fishing service.

       

      Chris was a fisherman at heart and enjoyed the sport immensely. You would find him on the water every chance he got. He also enjoyed traveling, and both playing and watching sports, and was always up for an adventure.

       

      He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church of Beverly Hills and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

       

      Chris was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Austin Kelner, and his grandparents, Joe and Angeline Svatek, and Felix and Albina Kelner.

       

      Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Laurie Kelner of Beverly Hills, Florida, and his parents, Franklin and Lonnie (Svatek) Kelner of Palacios, TX., as well as numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.

      His courageous, faithful and generous spirit will be greatly missed and his memory lovingly cherished.

       

      Family visitation on Sunday from 4 p.m. till 6 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. rosary at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.  Funeral mass on Monday at 10 a.m. at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church with Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Burial at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers: Anthony Mizera, Mark Svatek, Matthew Svatek, Michael Svatek, Alan Neely, Jeff Aries, Corey Aries and Patrick Svatek.

       

      Memorial contributions may be given in Christopher's name to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270 Beverly Hills, Florida 34464 or masses.
