      Funeral services for Hattie Provazek, 83, of Caldwell, are set for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat, officiated by Father Scott Mikkelson. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. A rosary will be recited by Glen Weardon on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 7:30 p.m., also at the funeral home. Mrs. Provazek passed away on March 4, 2011 at her home in Caldwell, surrounded by her children.

      Pallbearers are Michael Ofczarzak, Jacob Beran, Franklin Karasek, Jr., Ernest D. Ofczarzak, Joseph Ofczarzak, and David Provazek.

      Hattie was born February 7, 1928 to Joe Beran and Elizabeth (Pivonka) Beran in Burleson County, Texas. Hattie was an employee of the Keller Chair Plant for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dime Box, the K.J.Z.T. Society in Dime Box and the St. Joseph's Altar Society. She had many hobbies including preserving what she grew in the garden, quilting, sewing and especially collecting prayers and praying the daily rosary for family and friends. She loved the outdoors and tending the livestock, hunting, fishing, and taking care of her family. She is known for her homemade chicken soup and kolaches.

      Hattie is survived by sons; Joseph D. Provazek of Caldwell, Alan G. Provazek, of Deanville, daughters and sons-in-law; Catherine A. Provazek of Caldwell, Mary J. and Mark B. Harris of Caldwell, Monica R. and Jim A. Franklin of Royce City, Texas, brothers and sisters-in-law; Joseph and Bernadette Beran of Caldwell, Ernest and Georgia Beran of Caldwell, sisters and brothers-in-law; Vlasta Ofczarzak of Caldwell, Josephine and Frank Felcman of Wallis, Betty Marek of Bryan, J. Vavra and James of Caldwell, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

      She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother.
