obit: Lillian Josephine Hajdik Macha
Lillian Josephine Macha, age 95 yrs, went into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 19, 2012.
Lillian began her earthly journey on July 28, 1917 in Needville, Texas when she was born to Jiri (George) and Anna Hajdik. Her childhood was spent with her ten brothers and sisters supporting the family farm. Despite the hard work in the fields picking cotton, she was dedicated to getting her education and graduated from Rosenberg High School in 1937. Upon graduation she moved to Houston, Texas where she attended Massey Business College graduating as an accounting technician. She worked as an accountant and administrative assistant until she married the love of her life, Edward C. Macha on September 17, 1946. Lillian and Edward continued to reside in Houston where she was a homemaker, wife and mother. During the 1970's Lillian was a department manager for TG&Y in Stafford, Texas. She loved tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and preparing scrumptious family meals.
Lillian and Edward had two sons, Richard James born March 9, 1948 and Ronald Edward, a special needs child, born October 10, 1959. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who nurtured and inspired her sons and grandsons all her life.
In 2007 she left her beloved Texas for Oklahoma City to be closer to her family. She lived independently at the Edmond Mansions retirement community until her death. She made many dear friends during her short time there.
Lillian's deep commitment to her Catholic faith was an inspiration to those who knew her. If unable to attend church on Sunday she would always find other ways to give thanks and praise to our Lord.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; her son, Ronnie; two brothers, Joe E. Hajdik and John Hajdik; eight sisters, Frances Chovanec, Agnes Drabek Kevton, Mary David, Cecilia David, Ann Polak, Rosalie Antrich, Tillie Grigar, and Georgia Krejci.
