obit: Lawrence L. Macha
Lawrence L. Macha, 75, of Rosenberg, Texas, died peacefully after a brief illness on March 23, 2012. He was born in Sealy, Texas on September 25, 1936 to Henry and Rosalie Janda Macha who precede him in death.
Lawrence graduated in 1954 from Lamar Consolidated High School and worked for 42 years for W-K-M in Missouri City. He was a faithful Catholic who loved and cherished his family and was a dedicated son, husband, father, father-in-law and Pe-Paw.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, Paula Burchfield and husband John and Kenneth Macha and wife Theresa; and four grandchildren: John Burchfield, Jr. and wife Shalane, Katie Burchfield, Luke Burchfield, and Cameron Macha. Also surviving Lawrence is his sister, Henriette Jalowy and husband James; his brother Gerald Macha; sister-in-laws Ann Luman, and Hattie Hlavinka and husband Joe; brother-in-law Joe Masek; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to family friend Sandy Harvey who cared for Lawrence and us during his illness.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 25 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. in Rosenberg followed by the recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Fr. Bill Bartniski will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Dr. Jeff Jalowy, Matthew Macha, Michael Luman, Don Hlavinka, Albert Smaistrla, and Daniel Macha.
