      LADIK A. MIKES JR.

       

      SAN ANTONIO - Ladik A. Mikes Jr. born to Ladik Mikes Sr., and Annie Janik Mikes in Shiner Texas on February 10, 1929 went to be with the Lord with his family by his side on April 8, 2012 at the age of 83.

       

      He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Rainosek, brother Robert grandson Joshua Friedrichs and mans best friend Harley.

       

      He is survived by his loving wife Natalie Kloesel Mikes of 60 years, daughters Sandra Walker (Frank) Becky Elmendorf (Aaron) Dennis (Tracy) Kenneth (Laurie) Darryl (Trish) and Douglas (Sheila) 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren,brothers, Alvin Mikes (Hattie), Edward Mikes (Dorothy) sister,Della Patek (Jimmie), numerous brothers in law, sisters in law, numerous nieces and nephews.

       

      He graduated from Shiner High School in 1946 .He also served in the US Army and retired from Grocery Supply.

       

      He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons and spending time with his family. He played the accordian in a county and western band for many years. He will be dearly missed.

       

      Visitation will be held April 12, 2012 at Dellcrest Funeral Home from 5PM to 9PM with a rosary to be recited at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 13, 2012 at Holy Name Catholic Church and viewing will begin at 10AM and Mass at 11AM followed by interment in St Ann's Cemetery in Lavernia.
