Julia (Dudik) Machac, 101, of Hubbard, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010, at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by Dorothy Machac, followed by a visitation until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Nativity of the BVM in Penelope, with the Rev. B. George as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope.
Mrs. Machac was born Feb. 24, 1909, in Hubbard, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Navratilova) Dudik. She attended schools near Cottonwood and on Feb. 17, 1930, she was united in marriage to George Machac in Penelope. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1981. She was a homemaker and loved cooking, baking and spending time with her family. Julia enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. You would often see her taking care of all the family graves and bringing flowers for special occasions. Julia was a faithful member of Church of the Nativity of the BVM in Penelope, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of K.J.Z.T. St. Anne's Society No. 35.
Survivors include two sons, Freddie Machac and wife, Dorothy, of Hubbard, and Alphonse Machac and wife, Mary, of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Evelyn Marek and husband, Marvin, of Austin, Margie Patak of Houston, and Betty Svrcek and husband, Henry, of Bryan; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of the Nativity of the BVM and Providence Hospice.
