obit: Alvin John Miksik
Alvin John Miksik, 76, died Monday at his home in San Bernardino.
Born in Shiner, Texas, Mr. Miksik lived in San Bernardino 55 years. He was a carpenter for 37 years, including for the Sawyer Cabinet Co. He belonged to Carpenters Union Local 944 in San Bernardino and the Redlands American Legion Post 106. Mr. Miksik served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and in the merchant marine.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, June; two sons, David and Darryl, both of San Bernardino; a daughter, Janette of San Bernardino; two grandchildren; a sister, Emilie Bier of North Carolina; and a brother, Wesley of Texas.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Riverside National Cemetery. Bobbitt Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino is handling arrangements.
