      Mary Knezek, age 95, of Shiner, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Mary was born on February 1, 1916 to Jim and Janie (Heiman) Mauric, in Shiner, Texas.

       

      On February 4, 1936, just a few days after her 20th birthday, Mary was united in marriage to Mr. William Knezek and through that union they were blessed with five children. Mary was a Catholic and a homemaker. She loved being outside tending to her garden and flowers. Mary also loved to bake and treasured her time spent with her family.

       

      Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband in 1972, her brother, Jimmie Mauric and an infant son, Daniel Knezek.

       

      She is survived by one son, Eugene Knezek and his wife Renee, three daughters, Margaret Chudej, Ella Gerbert and her husband Wayne and Lorene Heintschel, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

       

      Visitation was held on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 7am to 9pm with Rosary by Deacon Machacek at 7 pm at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner. Funeral Services were held at 1:30 at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church on Saturday, April 16, 2011, with Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Burial followed at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.

       

      Pallbearers were David Immenhauser, Michael Best, J.R. Best, James Chudej, William Heintschel and Glenn Knezek. Honorary Pallbearers were Ernest Knezek, Johnny Ray Knezek, Jimmy Mauric, David Mauric, Vick Patek and Lenert Heiman.
