obit: Dolphie Salena Kubecka
Dolphie M. Kubecka, 78, of Cuero, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010. She was born Dec. 27, 1931, in Sweethome, to the late Rudolph Salena and Mary Zalubek Salena. She married Albert A. Kubecka on Aug. 8, 1950 in Sweet Home. She was a clerk with Lifecheck Pharmacy for 40 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Alice Klaus (Eddie) of Portland, Linda Boothe (Roger) of Cuero, and Theresa A. Pate (Chad) of Yoakum; son, Johnny R. Kubecka (Maureen) of Sugarland; sister, Stacy Kubecka of Shiner; brother, Otto Salena of Port Lavaca; and grandchildren, Tory Klaus of Taft, Brent Klaus of Corpus Christi, Lee Boothe of Cuero, Lindsey Hulsey of Victoria, William "Fred" Ginney II of Cuero, Lauren Winkeno of Clarksville, Tenn., Erik Kubecka of Houston, and Ellen Kubecka of Austin; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Helen Fikec; and brother, Joe Salena.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery in Shiner.
Pallbearers will be Tory Klaus, Brent Klaus, William "Fred" Finney II, Erik Kubecka, Lee Boothe, and Kenny Kubecka. Honorary pallbearers are all of her nieces and nephews and all employees of Life Chek Drug.
Memorials contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic School, St. Michael's Catholic Church, or American Cancer Society.
