John "Jay" Havlik, age 87, was born on Sept. 30, 1924, in Moulton, Tx. and passed away on Jan. 8, 2012, in Houston after a courageous battle from cancer.

He graduated from Texas A&M in 1948. He was a WWII Veteran; after the war he spent 38 years with Texaco as a mechanical engineer.

John was a proud member of the Polka Lovers Klub of America and Epiphany Catholic Church. He loved music, football, and most of all Irene's home cooking.

A special thanks to all of the caregivers, Kindred Hospital and staff, Methodist Hospital and staff and the entire family for their love and support.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Maury and Raymond and grandson Christian.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Havlik; daughters, Carolyn and Marilyn; sons, Dan, Dennis, Paul, Johnny, Ed and Robert; grandchildren, Katie, Carl, Michael, Jeffery, Christie, Hope, Brandon, Ashley, and Kelly; great grandchildren, Jackson and Mason.

A visitation will be held on Tues., 1/10 from 6-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm, and a funeral service, 10am on Wed. 1/11 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Katy, Tx. A reception will immediately follow in the parish hall with a private interment at Forest Park Westheimer.

Donations may be received at both services for the Havlik Family Cemetery. Information will be available at that time. Donations to the Czech museum are also greatly appreciated. 250 W Fair Grounds Rd., La Grange, TX 78945
