Obit: Milton William Trojan (1926 - 2011)
FORT WORTH - Milton William Trojan, 85, beloved husband, father and "Papa," died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011. He was born in Christ, lived in Christ and died in Christ, and is now with his heavenly Father.
Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment with military honors: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund are appreciated.
Milton was born Jan. 6, 1926, to Oscar and Ida Trojan in Burlington. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in World War II with the 1252nd Combat Engineers, fighting in battles and campaigns in Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. After returning, he married Joyce Singleton in Temple on April 17, 1948. They moved to Fort Worth where their four children were born and raised. Milton's career was in the air conditioning field, where he was a member of UA Local 146 since 1949 and a member of ASHRAE.
Milton was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a past president and lifetime member of the Fort Worth Model A Ford Club. He and Joyce enjoyed driving their 1931 Model A Deluxe Coupe throughout the United States. They also enjoyed spending 42 years at their M T Ranch in Bosque County raising Texas longhorns.
Milton loved his family dearly, and we will greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cellfred and Marvin.
Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Joyce Trojan; daughters, Carolyn and husband, Mickey Eidson, of Arlington, Patricia and husband, Pete Newburn, of Grapevine and Debbie and husband, Randy Hall, of Colleyville; son, David Trojan of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Keri McKinney, Kristina Neal, Allan Newburn, Philip Newburn, Patrick Newburn, Michael Grace, David Grace, Jonathan Hall, Sarah Hall, Ashley Roberts, Travis Trojan and Matthew Trojan; and seven great-grandchildren.
