GALVESTON Georgia A. Broz, 80, passed away on Thursday,
August 30, 2007, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, Texas. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Galveston, with Fr. William Bartniski, as
Celebrant. Burial will follow services Tuesday at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery,
in Hitchcock, Texas. A Vigil Service, followed by The Rosary, will be held at
6:30 p.m., Monday, September 3, 2007, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral
Home, Galveston. Mrs. Broz family will be receiving friends for visitation at
the funeral home Monday evening after 5:00 p.m.
Mrs. Broz was born in Fayetteville, Texas, June 16, 1927. She and her
late husband, John made their home on Galveston Island. Just as she cared for
and nurtured her family, Mrs. Broz enjoyed a lovely flower garden, working her
flowering plants, nurturing their blooms, thus producing beautiful flower
gardens. She leaves behind many fond memories of which she will be remembered,
perhaps, her flower garden will be one of her most vivid memories left to share.
Mrs. Broz is preceded in death by her husband, John F. Broz; one of her
daughters, Linda Labardini; her parents, Paul and Bessie Ricicar; five brothers,
Lad, Tony, John, Jerome and Edwin; and
also two brothers-in-law, Joe Muscat and Joe Plasak. She leaves behind
many cherished memories with her loving family, daughters, Joann Broz of
Houston, Texas, Shirley Broz of Galveston, Texas and Mary Boyle and husband,
Jeff, also of Galveston, Texas; and her son, Jack Broz of Galveston, Texas.
Sharing in her loss, too, is Mrs. Broz's sister, Sydonia Muscat of Galveston,
Texas; numerous nieces; and nephews; most especially, her niece, Pat Muscat of
Houston, Texas; a host of other loving family and friends, with special mention
of family friend, Tina Carrigan.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Schmidt, Bob Bowman, Frank Culligan, Adolph
Wehmeyer, E.J. Ricicar and Louie Labardini.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Broz's family is requesting that memorials in
her memory be made to the Hospice Care Team, Inc., 1708 Amburn, Suite C, Texas
City, Texas 77591-2436, also to The Galveston Island Humane Society, 6814
Broadway, Galveston, Texas 77554 or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1302
Broadway, Galveston, Texas 77550 or to a charity of choice.
