      Deceased Name: Frances H. Cerny

      Frances H. Cerny passed away on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004.

      She was born July 24, 1923, on a farm in Ashley, Ill., to Anton Lamczyk and Helen Ballias. She was raised in Radom, Ill., until her marriage. On Jan. 20, 1945, she married Ralph L. Cerny at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Radom. They were married 59 and one-half years.

      Frances retired from Illinois Bell in Collinsville, Ill., after 29 and one-half years of employment. She had been a resident of Texas since 1985, when she moved to Chandler, and had lived in Denton since January 1999.

      She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Lady Knights in Tyler, Texas, and Catholic Daughters of America in Tyler.

      She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church.

      Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kathy Cerny of Granite City, Ill., and Robert and Shirley Cerny of St. Jacob, Ill.; three daughters and sons-in-law; Karen and Jim Lager of Breese, Ill., Helen and Donald Gerstein of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Janet and Gene Caouette of Flower Mound, Texas; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Cerny Wunder, Christine Lager Richter, Gwendolyn R. Lager, Cara Cerny Gresh, Corinne Cerny Eversmann, Allison Cerny Jasutis, Robyn McWhorter Reynolds, Noah Cerny Gerstein and Eli Cerny Gerstein; and eight great-grandchildren, Bailey Lager, Brennan Richter, Bennett Richter, Jacob Wunder, Nicholas Wunder, Cody Daeck, Stephanie Gresh and Julia Eversmann. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.

      Frances was a devoted wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her.

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Mark Catholic Church Building Fund, 2800 Pennsylvania Drive, Denton, TX 76205.

      A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at St. Mark Catholic Church.
