      Glenn Chvatal

      Glenard Andrew Chvatal, 89, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 in La Marque, TX.  He was born on March 22, 1922 in Atwood , Kansas to Frank and Matilda Haller Chvatal.  He was a member of St. Mary’s of the Miraculous Metal Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served two terms as  Past Grand Knight.  Glenn served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.  He worked as a master mechanic with heavy equipment.

      Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and son, Kenneth Chvatal.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy Heatherly Chvatal; daughters, Elaine Glass and husband Ray of Clear Lake, TX and Glennice Uselton of Humble, TX; 3 sisters, Mary Ann Brown of Kingwood, TX, Juanita Hallsey and husband Bob of McCook, NE, and Ilene Haller and husband Sam of Culbertson, NE; 3 brothers, LaVerne Chvatal of Atwood, KS, Frank Chvatal and  wife Theresa of Atwood, KS and Gary Chvatal and wife Carol of Littleton, CO; 6 grandchildren, Patricia Uselton, Stacy Dawson, Hank Chvatal, Keith Dawson, Martin Lee Uselton, Jr. and Stefani McDonald; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

      Visitation will be Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil and Rosary Service at 7:00 pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque , TX . Funeral Services will be Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque , TX , with Deacon Joe Hensley officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson , TX.

      Pallbearers will be George Brown, Jr., Kyle Brown, Martin Uselton, Hank Chvatal, Stacy Dawson and Keith Dawson.

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Mary’s of the Miraculous Metal Catholic Church, 1620 9th Ave. North , Texas City , TX ,77590.
