      EL CAMPO -- Fred ''Fritz'' Paul Dornak, 77, of El Campo, died Thursday, July 6, 2000.

      He was born June 30, 1923, in Hillje, to the late Joe M. and Mary Stokr Dornak. He was owner of Emil's Place for 53 years and was also a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Knights of Columbus No. 2490, American Legion Post No. 251 and the VFW.

      Survivors: wife, Helen Dluhos Dornak; daughters, Janice M. Riedel of Houston and Mary Kay Cook of Eagle Lake; sons, Preston Thomas Dornak, Bruce E. Dornak, Philip J. Dornak and Joe Ray Dorank, all of El Campo; sisters, Mary Bercak of El Campo and Pauline Zboril of New Taiton; brothers, Bill Dornak and Louis Dornak, both of El Campo; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

      Preceded in death by: parents; sisters, Janie Erdelt, Eunice Shimek and Millie Sablatura; brothers, John P. Dornak, Joe F. Dornak, Adolph Dornak and Edwin Dornak; granddaughter, Cassandra Dornak.

      Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Sunday at Triska Funeral Home chapel.

      Parish and Knights of Columbus wake service will be 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel.

      Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Philip Catholic Church, the Rev. Michael Petering officiating.

      Burial with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post No. 251 will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in New Taiton. Triska Funeral Home, El Campo, (979) 543-3681.
