      Henry J. Drapela, Sr., 90, of Brenham, passed away on October 5, 2011. He resided in Brenham for the past 22 years and lived in Tomball, Texas the last 11 months. 
       
      Henry was born on January 18, 1921 to Henry and Annie Drapela in Houston. Henry married Barbara L. Walker on July 15, 1939. He served his country during World War II. He was a loving husband, serving as the primary caregiver to his wife for nearly 10 years while she had Alzheimers. Henry enjoyed making and donating items to benefit the organizations to which he belonged, including the VFW, Knights of Columbus, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. 
       
      He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara L. Drapela; his daughter Sandra J. Mitchell and brother, George Drapela. 
       
      Henry’s loving family includes: Son, Henry J. Drapela, Jr. and wife Paula; Daughter, Judy D. Schmadeka and husband Wayne; Grandchildren, Henry J. Drapela, III, William Drapela, Kevin L. Doyle and wife Mary, Charles David Drapela and wife Emily, Keith J. Doyle and Melinda K. Foster; Great grandchildren, Jessica, Julian, Christopher, Hunter, Charles, Ayden, Justin, Vanessa, Joshua; Sister, Lucille Florian; Brother, Lester Drapela and numerous nieces and nephews. 
       
      Visitation – Monday, October 10, 2011 from 5:30 until 7:30 in the evening at Brenham Memorial Chapel. 
       
      Funeral Service – Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10:00 in the morning in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Benedict Zientek, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. 
       
      Pallbearers are Henry Drapela, III, Kevin Doyle, Keith Doyle, Charles David Drapela, William Drapela and Michael Drapela. Honorary Pallbearers are Raymond Walker and Johnny Ulrich.
