Church services for Lillian T. Dukatnik Silhan, 73, of Morton are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Morton, with Joey Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Morton Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Lillian died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at her residence.
She was born March 1, 1935, in New Colony. She married Eddie E. Silhan in Clovis, N.M. on Dec. 28, 1951. He died Sept. 5, 2006.
She enjoyed being an artist and painted most of her life. She was a very caring and beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked on a farm with her husband. She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Morton. She moved to the Pep Community in 1938 and to the Morton area in 1952.
The motto she lived by was "Love is the answer."
Survivors include sons, Jerry and wife Tammy Silhan and David and wife Sharla Silhan, both of Morton; daughter, Betty Silhan of Nogal, N.M.; three sisters, Lorene Silhan of Seguin, Margaret Bartek of Luling, and Georgia Mae Webb of Boerne; nine grandchildren, Abram, Alexa, Auston, Emilee, Jerryd, Aimee, Leann, Dustin, and Shea; and two great-grandchildren, Cayden and Brook.
Flowers may be sent to Ellis Funeral Home in Morton, or in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center, 4101 22nd Place, Lubbock, TX 79410.
