obit: Pressley Foyt
- Pressley Foyt, age 91, of Temple died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at his residence. No services are planned at this time.
Mr. Foyt was born on May 14, 1919 in Rosebud to Ben and Villa Pressley Foyt. He was reared and educated in Temple and Belton. During WWII, Pressley served in the 36th Division Company D 143rd Infantry Regiment where he received three Purple Hearts. After the war, he attended Temple Junior College and then went to New Mexico A&M in Las Cruses where he received a degree in civil engineering. After college he went to work as a nuclear engineer at Los Alamos National Laboratory where he worked over 30 years. He was in charge of water treatment and waste water for the lab and the city of Los Alamos. After his retirement in 1982 he returned to Bell County. He married Louise Emerson of Temple in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1985.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one son, Rod. Survivors include one son, Don R. Standridge of San Jose, California and one daughter-in-law, Betty Foyt of Temple, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
