For those of you that are in the listening area of PBS station KLRU of
Austin are in for a treat on Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m.

"Painted Churches: Echoes of the Homeland" will be presented at 8"00
p.m. Saturday takes viewers on a stunning tour of some of Central
Texas' hidden treasurers, a collection of immigrant churches with
spectacular painted interiors. From the tiny Czech communities of
Praha and Dubina to the German settlements at Fredericksburg and High
Hill, the churches stand as remarkable reminders of faith and the old
      world traditions.

This is the first showing of the one-hour documentary. entitled
The Painted Churches of Texas: Echoes of the Homeland, begins at 8:00
p.m. on Saturday, February 24 on KLRU in Austin.
Afterward it will be put into the PBS distribution network across
      Texas and the United States.
Information will also be offered on the PBS web site at
      www.klru.pbs.org.
The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center, Inc. of La Grange,
Texas contrubuted a number of vintage photographs from their archives
      for this documentary.

Part of the above came from Sunday's Austin American-Statesman and
the last several paragraphs came from the WEIMAR MERCURY of Thursday,
      February 22.

The WEIMAR MERCURY has a much larger news release which I do not have
      the time to type today.
