      Deceased Name: Ernest William Holub "Bill"

      Bill was born July 8, 1922 in Prairieburg, Iowa and died peacefully November 30, 2006 in his daughter Anna's home. Bill graduated in 1939 from Anamosa High School in Iowa. As a member of the Marine Corp he saw action in the 12th Defense Battalion at Woodlark, Cape Gloucester, and Peleliu Islands in the Pacific and was honorable discharged as a Gunnery Sergeant in 1945. This past March he was honored as a continuous member of the American Legion for 60 years. After the war, a first marriage produced two children, Paula Fay and Greg Holub. In 1951 he married Lynette Dora Brown of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and had three children, Anna, William, and Peter. Bill worked as a hydrology research technician with the Rocky Mountain Forest and Range Experiment Station in Ft. Collins, Colorado for the next 24 years and then the Bureau of Land Management in Canon City, Colorado for 8 years.
       
      He is survived by all of his children, Anna Sturgeon of Lufkin, Texas, William Holub of Blanca, Colorado, Peter Holub of Louviers, Colorado, Paula Fay of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Greg Holub of Anamosa, Iowa.
       
      A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 4, 2006 at St. Andrew of the Apostle Church, 1611 Feagin Dr., Lufkin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines
