Frank Holik, 74, of Monaville, died Friday evening at 5 p.m.  He was born in Austin county and moved to Waller county as a young man, and followed farming and cattle raising as an occupation.  He served as county commissioner for several terms, and always took an interest in civic affairs.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the residence at 2 p.m. under the auspicious of the local Sons of Herman with Fritz Wawrofsky, reading the ritual, and C. H. Chernoski, delivering the eulogy.

There was a large crowd to pay final respect to him.  Many coming from several nearby counties.

Mr. Holik is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rosa Holik; three daughters, Mrs. Olga Kolija, Mrs. Vlasta Stefka and Mrs. Gardina Schmidt, all of Waller county, and one son, Edward F. Holik, of the police force of Houston.  Pallbearers were:  Dick Cuny, J. H. Day, J. H. Schmidt, A. B. Anderson, Otis Carlisle and Mr. Brignance.

      Tom Cuny directed the funeral.
