      A Rosary and Funeral Mass for Gloria Sloan, 65 of Giddings, are scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Giddings with Father Jim Olnhausen officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

      Gloria passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the South Austin Hospital.

      Gloria Anne Sloan was born on November 30, 1944 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Peter W. & Anne (Hrycyk) Sloan. Gloria lived in Kirkland Lake Ontario, Calgary Alberta, Victoria British Columbia, Toronto Ontario and Nashville, TN. She then moved to Giddings, Texas where she became employed with a local Giddings contractor before expanding her career independently. She formed her own company, Gloria Sloan Designs, where she created unique and exquisite designs and innovations to the homes and businesses of many clients she served. Her passion and zest from her innate talent for aesthetic vision was evident in all that she accomplished in her life. Gloria received many awards for her unique interior designs.

       

      She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Jo-Anne.

      Gloria is survived by her daughter, Samantha Anne Ball and her fiance, Kyle Donahue of Nashville, TN. Gloria also was Nanny to her very special granddaughter, McKinzie Anne Ball of Nashville, TN. Her brothers Robert P. Sloan and family of Franklin, TN & Douglas A. Sloan and family of Toronto, Ontario Canada also survive her.

      Gloria will be immensely missed by her loving and constant companions, her golden retrievers, Hoot & Dusty, as well as countless friends whose lives she has touched so deeply. She will never be forgotten for her warm and loving nature, effervescent smile and the glow with which she always brought into our lives.
