Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Huvar, 93, one of Weimar's oldest citizens, were held this (Thursday) morning at Hubbard Funeral Home and St. Michael's Church, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Mrs. Huvar, who had been in poor health for a number of years, became seriously ill last Friday.  She died at noon Tuesday in Youens Hospital.

Born in Europe Sept. 24, 1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Kabot, she came to this country as a young girl, settling near Weimar.  In 1892 she was married to Frank Huvar, who died in 1929.  She was probably the oldest living member of St. Michael's Church.

Surviving are two daughter, Misses Theresa and Genevieve Huvar, both of Weimar; a son, Cyril Huvar of El Campo; three step-daughters, Mrs. Adolf Matzke of Needville, Mrs. Joe Schindler of Deer Park and Sister Philebert of Our Lady of the Lake Convent in San Antonio, Texas; two stepsons, Fred Huvar of Victoria and Will Huvar of Houston; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
