      Deceased Name: O'tillia Martha Laidolf Janecek

      O'tillia Martha Laidolf Janecek, known to her friends as Tillie and her family as Mop, left earth for Heaven 9:50 a.m., Sunday, May 11, 2008 Mother's Day. After suffering from a long illness of COPD, Tillie was blessed with a quiet and peaceful death in her home at The Terrace. Tillie moved from La Marque, Texas, her home of 50 years, to The Terrace in Houston a senior retirement community, May, 2007.

      A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, May 17, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Culver officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2008, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. A Vigil service will begin at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

      Tillie was born O'tillia Martha Laidolf on January 9, 1923 in East Bernard, Texas, to Alfons and Hermina Laidolf. She attended Holy Cross Catholic School and moved to Houston with her sister Ann Gerlich. She was employed with Dickson Gun Plant during the war. She was a member of the KJZT fraternal organization and acted as secretary for 40 plus years.

      She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Janecek; son James E. Janecek; her parents; sister Emilie Laidolf; and brothers Herman Laidolf and Bill Laidolf.

      Survivors include her daughter Carol Ann Vacek of Houston; granddaughters Kristen Rochelle Vacek of Houston and Kathryn Ashley Holt of Austin; grandsons Shawn Michael Vacek and wife, Vanessa, of Houston and Chad Jeremy Holt of Austin; great-grandsons Shay Janecek Holt of Austin, Victor Scout Vacek and Walter Knox Vacek, of Houston; great-granddaughter Jessica Burnie of Austin; sister Anne Gerlich of Halletsville, Texas; nephews Mark Stanley Gerlich and family and Collin Patrick Gerlich and family, all of Houston; nieces Florence Schoelman and family from Pasadena, Texas and Alice Fowler and husband from East Bernard, Texas, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

      Pallbearers are grandsons: Chad Jeremy Holt, Shawn Michael Vacek; granddaughter Kristen Rochelle Vacek; nephews Mary Stanley and Collin Patrick Gerlich, Houston, Texas, and Lawrence Ceres of La Marque, Texas.

      In lieu of flowers, friends and family are welcome to make a donation to The Houston Hospice Medical Center, 1901 Holcombe, Houston, TX 77030.

      A memorial service will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6802 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX., at a later date.
