Funeral Services for Alma Marie Kanak, 89, of East Bernard, will held , Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at 2 p.m. from Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with Rev. Don Ruppert celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with a Wake Service and Rosary at 6 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard.
Serving as pallbearers are Duane Losack, Gregory Losack, Bryan Millsap, Alfred Haedge, Scott Mazoch and Gerald Albrecht.
Honorary pallbearers are Jimmie Losack, Jerry Buzek, Marvin Albrecht, Louis Henry Muller, Albin Pilcik, Alfred Schaer, Edward Kanak, L. Bryan Millsap and Willie Fagan.
Mrs. Kanak was born on Aug. 23, 1915, in Hallettsville to the late Adolph and Julia Konvicka Berkovsky. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard, K.J.Z.T., Altar Society, Christian Mothers and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.Mrs. Kanak died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005.
She is survived by her daughters, Georgie Losack and husband, Jimmie, of East Bernard and Rosalie Millsap of Rosenberg; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Evelyn Albrecht, Mary Buzek, Gladys Worthington and Leona Fagan, all of Rosenberg; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor J. Kanak; son, Joe Kanak and wife, Audrey; and one sister, Viola Muller.
Memorial Contributions may be made to any Holy Cross Catholic Church Fund, 839 Church Street, East Bernard, TX 77435; or a charity of personal choice.
