      Karen Gittinger Kubica, 66 was born March 25, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away suddenly on Friday, January 8, 2010 in Navasota, Texas. She worked for Texas A & M University and planned to retire soon from their Strategic Sourcing Department. Karen was a strong, wonderful person who touched many lives and who's memory will live on through her acts of love, kindness and concern for others.

      Survivors include her incredibly loving husband of 37 years, Joseph Kubica of Navasota. Children surviving are Barbara and Jon Schlandt of College Station; Texas, Jesse and Cathy Kubica of Wimberly, Texas; Jerry and Vicky Kubica of Old Dime Box, Texas; and Becky and Archie Mann of Oscala, Florida. Surviving grandchildren are Derek and Tania Steptoe of Pearland, Texas; Krissy and Ivan Lopez of Houston, Texas; Colt and Lauren of Giddings, Texas; Jesseree Kubica of Old dime Box, Texas; Blair and Baylee Mann of Oscala, Florida. Surviving great grandchildren are Cade and Liani Lopez of Houston, Texas.

      Also surviving are brothers Dennis and Ted Gittinger, Uncles Gene and Joe Wells of Houston Texas; Brothers-in-law Ben (Ann) Kubica of Bryan, Texas; Robert (Liz) Kubica of Old Hickory, Tennessee; Raymond Kubica of Temple, Texas; John Kubica of Baytown, Texas; Sisters-in-law Mary (Rand) Evans of Livermore Falls, Maine and Trudy Meigs of Baytown, Texas.

      Karen was a faithful witness of Jehovah for over 40 years and a member of the Navasota Congregation for 30 years. Services are scheduled for Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Navasota, Texas.
